Description

The tear tape used in this Tie-Back Lanyards is quite unique. It passes both 6 ft Free Fall(Factor 1) and 12 Ft Free Fall(Factor 2) criteria. The 6/12 tear tapes start activation at 900 lbf. average activation, then half way threw the deployment diatance it ramps up to 1,350 lbf for a maximum deployment distance of 60″. We have replaced the steel D-Ring connector between the shock pack and lanyard legs with a forged 2″ aluminum O ring. The new tear tape system will reduce total lanyard weight by slightly over one half of a pound. Tear tape is backed up with 8,000lb Kevlar webbing to allow the lanyard to pass ASTM F887-13 Arc Flash requirements.

ASTM F887-13 Arc Flash Rated. 100% Tie Off twin lanyard legs are made from 13mm BlueWater Armortech Rope and 2.5″ opening aluminum ANSI Certified Large Snap Hooks. Unique double ring on lanyard legs allow easy adjustment for tie-back. Designed specifically for Transmission Tower workers who want a Fall Protection Lanyard that can be used either for sternal or dorsal harness attachment. Maximum length of lanyard is 6 ft. Lanyard has a new YATES 2″ rigging ring between shock pack and Armortech rope legs to allow tie-bach to shock pack when used on harness sternal attachment. Forged captive eye ANSI certified carabiner used to connect shock to harness.This 100% Tie Off Lanyard is specifically designed to be incorperated into the sternal D-ring on harnesses is desired. ANSI Z359.14 Standard allows for sternal fall protection attachment of lanyards. Weight: 5 lb. 2 oz. Comes with FR Velcro keeper that secures aroung shoulder strap on harness allowing the climber to secure the shock pack over his shoulder for climbing (as seen in video) if the lanyard is attached dorsally to the harness. PATENT PENDING.

ANSI Z359.11-2014 Sternal Attachment

3.2.2 Sternal.
The sternal attachment may be located as shown in Figure 4, and used as an alternative fall arrest attachment in applications where the dorsal attachment is determined to be inappropriate by a competent person and where there is no chance to fall in a direction other than feet first.

E3.2.2 See Figure 2(a) & 4. The sternal attachment element should be used only when the likely fall distance is not greater than 2 ft.

3.2.2.2 When loaded at the sternal attachment to arrest a fall, the design of the FBH (full body harness) shall direct load through the shoulder straps supporting the user and around the thighs.
